Overview
I have had Psoriasis for 14 years. I am now 31 and have had this continuously for that period of time.
Treatments
Probably as with most skin condition sufferers, I have always listened to the doctors and have used various amounts of products such as:
Dovenex
Coaltar (for skin & scalp)
Banana and oat nutrients
Linseeds
Oregon grape
Dovabet and many other variations of steroid creams/ointments along with UVA/PUVA and narrow band uva
While some of the treatments provided light relief, none were consistent.
About Buffalo Milk
Buffalo Milk is very rich and nutritious, in fact it is twice the butterfat of cows milk with higher protein and vitamins. However, the cholesterol is almost half the level of cows milk, and is even lower than goat's milk. The buffalo give under half the quantity of cows, but because of the quality it can be used for a wide range of products and can be drunk by people who would otherwise be allergic to cows milk. Buffalo Farmers were aware that the milk could help in the treating of cystic fibrosis, eczema as well as certain allergies, but it was not until they started to get feedback from people that they realised that the Buffalo Milk was able to clear up many eczema cases within 2-3 weeks of moving onto Buffalo Milk! One woman stated that her 18 month old child had bad eczema and had been under GP treatment for months without any success. She put the child onto Buffalo Milk, making sure that all traditional cow dairy produce was withdrawn - two weeks later she returned to the farm with her little boy and said excitedly 'Look at him, - the eczema had completely cleared'. This was an amazing statement, but since then dozens of people have said exactly the same thing, usually, after just 1-2 weeks on Buffalo Milk.
Why Buffalo Milk
Having been informed about this scenario by a close relative, who had heard details on the 3 Counties Radio Show, but could not remember what it was called or where it was, I did a short search, but left it at that.
While flicking through the channels one day I came across a BBC 2 Local Life Program in which they were discussing a Buffalo Farm and apparent benefits derived from the milk.
Upon a search of the Internet I found their website and contacted the farm directly.
As with anyone having Psoriasis, I think everyone is now willing to try just about anything. This was one of those times.
The visit to the Buffalo Farm
I visited the Farm and sampled the milk, cheese and ice cream along with my wife, daughter and son.
I came away with 20 pints, cheese and some ice cream; of the milk I left a few pints out and froze the rest.
I took photos of my Psoriasis, which has always effected my scalp, hands, elbows, arms, back, legs, knees, ankles, feet and nails.
(I had at this time decided to forgo using steroid creams anymore.)
I must admit to being dubious, but was very willing to test these items in the hope that they are able to assist myself and other sufferers with skin conditions.
The next 2 weeks
The taste of the milk takes a little getting used to but I used it in my cups of tea, on my cereal and the many milkshakes I have come to make (which are great for taking to work).
The other great thing is making cheese sauces, which we both found to be hugely filling.
At around the 2 week period I had begun to notice that I was using less and less dovonex and moisturiser.
One of the worst things, apart from the Psoriasis being on your skin/scalp is the flakiness that you notice everywhere. (Such as on your shoulders and sofas.)
At 3-4 weeks
At this stage I noticed the flakiness was by now very limited, this was great considering what it had been like previously.
I would be using double base (moisturiser) 3 times a week and dovonex from 0-1 a week.
Six weeks
At this time I had been very impressed and had noticed some improvement, while I still have Psoriasis I did notice the flakiness and constant itch had become very infrequent.
I stopped taking notes at this time due to a course of narrow band uva treatment, although I did continue with the milk.
Note
After my uva treatment had stopped, I no longer had any milk for a 2 week period due to a hectic schedule at this time.
The scaliness returned and, while disheartened at the time (it happened after my previous treatment), I have now been informed by the farmer that more Waitrose supermarkets are stocking a small supply.
After the past week, the flare-ups are calming down and the flakiness is reduced already.
Overall verdict
While this does not appear to be conclusive perhaps 6 weeks is to short. I feel that the milk has greatly assisted in the calming and slowing down of my Psoriasis and I would recommend that people give it a go and test it for themselves.

Bradley Pyne was first in touch with talkpsoriasis back in January 2005 after seeing the programme on BBC 2, regarding Buffalo Milk.
He was trying the milk anyway and kindly offered to keep a diary of results and how his Psoriasis reacted.
As you can see, the results are not strongly conclusive either way, but seem to have had a positive effect for Bradley. This is very encouraging for him, since anything that makes the condition easier to manage is good.
